    Yeah, it's trivial. I just liked the way it looked. I don't like how I had to write the second comment, though.
      As long as you're just removing the chars anyway, the order doesn't matter for the first part of the tr///. If you don't like the second smilley, you could write it as:
      (y)=""; #:mu ))d);
      Really you have a lot of freedom with that last line...
