I just realized, when looking at the Nodes You Wrote link, that it's been a year... or was a year in August since my last post. I started on this site in early August 2003, and apparently went dark in early August 2024, 21 years later.
Here I learned how to turn a CS major into software engineering; learned test driven development, learned better problem solving skills, learned how to work with parsers, with external APIs, how to release to CPAN, and so on. Along the way my career shifted in this direction, as well.
Anyway, I just wanted to mention that I'm happy to have discovered this site over two decades ago, and for the time I spent here learning, and participating. I'm also happy about how that participation and learning has shaped my (ongoing) career. Those who are still reading here once in awhile, who were along for a similiar ride, thanks for your participation as well. We've had some fun, some disagreements, some epiphanies, and a lot of rabbit holes. And it's been rewarding.
Dave
