jjmoka has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I'd like to try Plack. The official site says only to do 'cpanm Task::Plack' as it couldn't end but well. But it's not my case. The is no forum to ask there. I received a new user account on a server, where perl version in 5.8.5. cpan didn't succed to intsall Plack, I thus installed cpanm (cpan App::cpanminus). It also failed. I thought it was better to update the perl distribution, so I added perlbrew and then perl 5.22.0. But with no better results.
It starts as
-> Working on Task::Plack Fetching http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/M/MI/MIYAGAWA/Task-Plack-0.28. +tar.gz ... OK Configuring Task-Plack-0.28 ... OK ==> Found dependencies: Plack::Middleware::Deflater, Starman, Twiggy, +Plack::Middleware::Header, Plack, Plack::Middleware::Debug, Corona, H +TTP::Server::Simple::PSGI, Plack::Middleware::Auth::Digest, Plack::Mi +ddleware::ConsoleLogger, Plack::App::Proxy, Plack::Middleware::Sessio +n, Starlet, FCGI::Client, Plack::Middleware::ReverseProxy --> Working on Plack::Middleware::Deflater Fetching http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/K/KA/KAZEBURO/Plack-Middleware +-Deflater-0.12.tar.gz ... OK Configuring Plack-Middleware-Deflater-0.12 ... OK
the fails on many dependencies and ends as:
==> Found dependencies: Plack::Request, Plack, Plack::Middleware ! Installing the dependencies failed: Module 'Plack' is not installed, + Module 'Plack::Middleware' is not installed, Module 'Plack::Request' + is not installed ! Bailing out the installation for Plack-Middleware-ReverseProxy-0.15. ! Any web discussion on Plack supposes it's installed, and anyhow the installation should come with no problems. But in a pretty fresh environment of my new server home, there is non choice to have it installed. Any suggestion on how to have it really running will be appreciated
Thanks
