Yes, that's why I chose to use Date::Manip in the first place. My solution needs to be able to handle the short and long days of the year. I also need it to remain in the time zone that I set without arbitrarily changing.

      I modified my print statement to demonstrate how dimwitted I am. Thank you, poj, for taking the time to help me find the detail I was missing.

      print $dateObjStart->printf('%Y%m%dT%H:%M%z %Z') . "\n\n";

      Clearly, I was confusing the offset with the actual time zone. Classic inability to see the forest for the trees. Thank you again!
