in thread Enhancing the new "display view"

Well spotted. I went back and forth on that quite a bit, but settled on having the edit box remain at the top and the rendered form displayed below that, mainly because, for some node types, there is "yet more to the page than what I just edited", e.g. a reply thread, and I didn't want to have the edit box jammed in between the "main" post and the "rest of the page".

Personally, after having used a wide variety of forum and wiki software, I have learned that "there is no standard", and one must always scroll down to see if what appears to be missing is simply off screen. But I don't want to force that on everybody.

PS- Sorry for all the "sund1al-like" wacko-formatting... ;-)

I reckon we are the only monastery ever to have a dungeon stuffed with 16,000 zombies.

Not sure if this is the right place for a suggestions, but when replying/commenting to a post, the parent post is only shown once at the top and further on replaced with previews.

IMHO it would be more consistent to keep the parent above the edit field and the preview below.

I'd volunteer to implement a JS toggle to hide parent or preview, if it matters.

Thanx for looking into it. I'm guessing making it an option is well, not an option. :)

Of course it is! You know what would be cool? If you could simply hit a "toggle" button and have the positions of the two parts -- the display box and the edit box -- reversed. Hmmm.....

Careful! Someone might think you are modernizing the site rather than (just) improving it. :) In any case, an option of any sort would be much appreciated.
