Why not work with the site owners towards a sensible way to access their data, an API perhaps?

If this is your site and you're doing some form of testing, or if it's another site, get permission from the site owner and the vendor. They'll help you if it's legit.

Don't ask to bypass security/protection mechanisms here on Perlmonks unless you can justify the reason and the legitimacy of such tasks.

But he thinks that if he challenges Perl folk to match Python, they'll ignore the ethical considerations in order to show that Perl is at least as capable as its 'nemesis': Python.

I think that this is a clear and transparent attempt at social manipulation, but ... I think a lot of things that others do not seem to grasp.
