in thread UP-TO-DATE Comparison of CGI Alternatives

I would say Mojolicious does compete with php in that they both perform the same function and using one mostly precludes using the other. Just like using Mojolicious precludes using the other frameworks. So choices have to be made. I'm just unequivocally saying that Mojolicious is the best. Other opinions are like, well "they all do the same thing" or "well you might try this if situation x". Or, "I was telnetted to a dancer server one time". Yeah, no. I'm saying one is far better than the others.

Not really. Mason or Embperl are much closer matches to PHP.

Really. So are you making a recommendation or just throwing out links? Last time I used PHP we used it as a routing controller and for templating, same as mojo except suckier. Makes me feel like I'm <?php echo "writing html still" ?>

Personally I think Mason is problematic. It encourages a PHPish approach which is a total violation of separation of concerns—MVC. Not saying it cannot be used well, just that it takes a disciplined hacker to do so. I only mentioned it because it is the most like PHP. Embperl was the bee’s knees 20 years ago. It’s not something I’d recommend at all today.

:) basically what you call "php" and what the rest of the world calls "php" aren't the same thing

So you agree then. Same function.
