I hope you don't think I was putting anything/anyone down. Definitely not; I believe wholeheartedly in using the right tool for the job. If you're familiar with X brand of screwdriver where I use Y brand, that's irrelevant if the job is done nonetheless.

As far as vi is concerned, one could say that I'm a true vi user, as that's all I used for several (at least eight) years before I even started dabbling in things with vi keybinds, including Vim :)

Actually I'm thankful for your contribution, I will point to it in the future. ;)

It highlights how comparing an editor like vi to an IDE like emacs doesn't make much sense, if the same proud vi users easily swap to real IDEs. =)

    Je suis Charlie!

IDE's are a crutch. Just because YOU need one does not mean the rest of us do. Maybe if you spend more time USING Emacs instead of ranting about vim you'd be productive member of society, which you are not.
        I'm not ranting about vim.

I'm joking about self proclaimed vi users who keep badmouthing emacs while using real IDEs in production.

It's like those Java programmers calling themselves Pythonistas and judging Perl.
