dalman has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

How can I pull .cgi data into a .pl script in @argv. (example please) I plan to manipulate the data for emails for cron. (I do not need example of this) I know the specific arguments I want to pass to .cgi Is this a simple system call?

Hello dalman and welcome to the monastery and to the wonderful world of Perl!

You'll learn that here more effort from your part you show better and targeted answers you'll get.

For instance you composed one of the worst node title ever.. But dont worry you'll learn to do it better.

    > pull .cgi data into a .pl script in @argv

means almost nothing to me, or too much: HTML? cgi params? What you want to achieve? what you tried?

As general rule you must show us some sketch of your code and some sample data and how you want to transform it.

Feel free to continue this thread adding another post with more useful informations.

I second Discipulus's suggestion that you consider expanding and clarifying the body (recommended) and title (highly recommended: titles are often used for subject searches) of the OP. A possibility for a better title might be something like "Importing CGI data into a Perl script via @ARGV (Was: .pl .cgi)".
