Er, no.

Post anonymously, signing it as yourself.
Then log in as yourself, and reply to the anonymous post saying "Yes, I did that."

This way, there is verification that you are actually taking responsibility for your post.

That said, I don't suggest it. PM XP and PM levels are definitely a poor indicator of perl experience ¹. They are more often indicators of one's contributions and involvement in the community. I definitely advise just posting and taking your lumps (anvils or sugar) as they come, and track your coding ability against real live code instead.

¹ Take me for an example. Not a good coder, but (before i went dormant for a while) a contributor to the community, asker of decent questions (even if I am stubborn).

Thanks for everyone's thoughts.... I do accept that XP is a very, very crude gauge. It is probably futile to attempt to refine it but I'm going to try anyway. Since nobody tells me that a second account will consume lots of server resources or confuse people, I've created social_mandog. Posting Anonymously just seems too cumbersome and prone to error. (What if somebody posts anonymously, claims to be me and I don't notice?) Also a second account allows me to (crudely) track my social contributions.	[reply]
