Looks like it's building fine on modern perls. It is also as part of Strawberry Perl by default.

    You mean it , is GD 2.68, it seems can be built on most of stable version on windows, but if you choose 2.60, 2.58,etc (below the matrix page) you will see the difference.

      There are zero Windows failures for v2.60, v2.59 has zero failures. v2.58 has no Windows tests at all (likely because 2.57, 2.58, 2.59 and 2.60 were released in rapid succession on the same day). 2.57 has zero failures. The Changes shows significant improvements between releases. Why would you want to recommend an older version? Each non passing test in the matrix needs to be read to find out if the test failure is down to the module, (update: added:) the tests or an issue with the system running the tests.
