in thread Looking for the maintainer of Sendmail::Milter.

Well finally I got an unconvincing and unhelpful reply from the existing maintainer of Sendmail::Milter, but nothing yet from modules@perl.org.

Can someone tell me if I send mail to modules@perl.org what IP address/addresses a reply might come from?

I ask because I've seen no reply to several messages that I've sent to that address, and I'm beginning to wonder if I might accidentally have firewalled the replies.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

So I guess you've followed the procedure described here, depending how long you've waited they may take "several weeks" for some feedback from the existing maintainer before taking action. With respect to where mail will come from, https://noc.perl.org has an email address to contact, though I've no idea if a response to you would come from one of the pause admins directly.

There are replies to this thread at least which it appears you have indeed received. You can always check the archives like this to see if you've missed any.

Yes, I followed the guidelines - I started this ball rolling in February 2017, and the response has been, to put it politely, thin.

Thanks very much for the links, looks like there have been no replies that I haven't seen.

Don't know if I'm using the comment facility in the way that's intended, please be gentle.

Yes, it's been a while since I started this ball rolling.

No luck at all with the (alleged) maintainer of Sendmail::Milter.

        I've re-written Sendmail::PMilter so that it doesn't need Sendmail::Milter.

I've been exercising it for a while and it's Been Reliable For Me.

I'd now like to work on the packaging, so I can get anyone who's interested to try a TRIAL version, and I'm looking at
        https://www.cpan.org/modules/04pause.html#before

It's recommended there for newbies like me to use PrePAN, but unfortunately PrePAN wants me to log in using Twitter or Github.

I neither have nor want accounts on Twitter and Github.

        Can anyone suggest alternatives?

        Thanks.

IMHO it might be time to just release your Sendmail::MilterV6...
