in thread Voting buttons - need zero/reset

It's not wasted, but it is easy to lose sight of the fact that the XP system can be used (dare I say intended?) to recognize well-written, informative, and useful nodes as opposed to (merely) a kudos for the node author.

immediate UPDATE: Of course voting ++ on an AM could still be viewed as kudos for the author (if you wish); you simply don't know whom; as long as the author remembers the node and follows the thread.

Don't forget this part of the original post though...

The same is true when I find a more accurate or informative reply farther down on the list that I think deserves my vote more.

This has happened to me a couple times, and I've also wished for the "Clear" button.

Well there is a solution to that too (if you have say only 2 votes, used them and one is AM and find another)...

    • Open the 3rd node to vote in another window
    • Vote for this node
    • Submit the v0tes in the main window, you are down ny one and the only the node at the top will get a vote. (If that happens to be the AM, then repeat first 2 steps for the other node you wish to vote)
Not exactly pretty, but ti works, and you don't have to remember who you voted for.
