I think it's a good idea. Maybe it could be extended to other node types in addition to users? I think it would be kind of cool, for example when people make references in their posts like this if I could force the actual subject line to be available like this (Useless feature request of the day, mirod).

Uh? I can't quite make sense of your answer...</p. Are you asking for the possibility to specify the text of a link to a post? You can do this by using [<id> or <title>\|<link text>] like this: [id://158289\| your reply] renders as your reply. site how to has more on this. My idea is just to allow annotation of the name of users so I remember that graham is not Graham Barr, but that gbarr is (I believe!) Update: after re-reading your post I managed to make sense of it (it wasn't that hard, actually, just my natural dumbness kicking in). And this answer is all wrong... So yes, it might be useful to get this feature available for other types of nodes, sorry.	[reply]
