I think this would be great.
If a node is a reply to a reply to reply etc. it can take ages to get back to the home node.
At work this doesn't matter too much as internet access is free, but at home I have metered access and a slooooow connection ( I guess this is normal for most European countries). Being able to access the whole thread at once rather than having to reload page after page would save me a lot of time and a bit of money.
