in reply to Address book?

I want to /msg people and find myself not remembering their username's exact spelling.

Why not use your personal nodelet to hold reminders? Or maybe your own home node, or scratch pad?

I've use the chatterbox as a kind of bookmark/todo list/notepad to store things that can't be stored in the personal nodelet. i.e. /msg ignatz Tell Paco to use File::Find
    ()-()
     \"/
      `

Is an easy way to do that from anywhere without going to a different node first eluding me?

If your browser has bookmarks, or if you take the time to add some stuff to your personal nodelet.
