I posted the following at use.perl.org. I'm not a perlmonks regular, so it didn't occur to me to post it here until now. I really have no idea whether "meditations" is the right place to post this. I looked at "where do I post X" and it didn't seem like there was any correct place, so maybe I shouldn't be posting this at perlmonks at all. If that's the case, I apologize. I just know that there are some folks who read this site regularly and don't often visit use.perl.org (just as the opposite as true).

I've prepared some info on how to get from the airport to YAPC via public transportation.

I did this last year for Montreal, and folks were kind enough to point out the errors in my proposed route. However, I actually live in St. Louis, and in fact live between the two Wash U campuses, and I take public transportation to/from the airport on a very regular basis. This year the information should be on target.

At the above link you'll find a somewhat detailed narrative with ascii maps and links to real maps. The info currently at that URL will get you to the registration building from the airport. In the future I plan to add info about how to get to fun stuff near campus.

Please post questions if you have them, as others probably have them too. Post your own suggestions of fun things to do (and maps, if relevant) as well.

I don't see a Perlmonks BOF on the YAPC schedule ... There's Perl 6, ActiveState, YAML and CPANPLUS, but no Perlmonks.

Who all's here? I met kudra briefly at registration, but was parked somewhat illegally, so figured I shouldn't stay to chat. I do see in Perl Monks BOF at YAPC::NA? that talexb and Amel were also planning to attend...

I'm not all that familiar with the campus, but wouldn't mind meeting for a drink or several, say, Thursday evening, if anyone can suggest a place...

I'll be at the CPANPLUS BOF Thursday, but would be interested in a BOF at another time. I'll be at the registration desk again this morning, although things might be a little hectic.
