Now this is an idea just for the fun of it.
I was navigating the site in search of interesting nodes and I stumbled on Saints in our Book so, summed with the fact I see quite a few new Monks every day, I asked myself...
Who knows what is the monks distribution by level?
Naturally, I have no clue how to determine it, since I suppose the answer involves site's databases and such...
I think it could be interesting so as to see the monastery's learning curve and understand which is the hardest level, the one that needs more answers and things like that.
Do you think it's a nice idea? Is it crappy?
I just can say I'm sitting in a nice room, with a sunny day outside and I'm about to get some hot coffee... I hope you understand my state of mind to come out with such a meditation!

      It is indeed... I am speechless :)
      I did search for hierarchy and similar in the monastery but did not find the link you pointed me to.
      Hope my idea is not misinterpreted.

        Just a note you toss out vroom's XP, the average XP is about 6071 for saints.

    If you're still looking for someting interesting to do after you've seen Saints in our Book and Number of Monks by Level, consider tracking what percentage of monks in each level log in each day. A graph of that might be very interesting.

    Update: Kanji pointed out that the graph at the bottom of Number of Monks by Level does track visits by level. I'm thinking of something that tracks visits by level over time.

    It is not as clear now as it used to be, but there is a confirmation of the shrewdness of the Everything guys' choice of levels in that many levels had about as many members as the total of those above it.   (Is there a mathematical word for that?)

    Of course, saints tend to pile up (they hit that heavenly glass ceiling), and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th levels could be only two levels (I remember hearing that this was deliberate, so that there would be more early progress).   It seems more evenly shmeared now, but I wonder how much of that is "deadwood" (like take me, for instance*), who reached a certain point and haven't been back since.

    dws' suggestion of charting over time might be interesting, but maybe just one or two more :Number of Monks breakdowns for the last month and the last 6 months. . .   And of course, I'd be curious to see them stacked vertically in "Towers of Hanoi" fashion (I'm sure there's a word for that).
