    Hi Perl user,

By now you may have realized that there are certain things a little crooked here .. odd customs, mis-spelled buttons, all that stuff. This may strike you as weird, but that's really just your point of view. From my (or dare I say our) point of view, it's a little odd, but very comfortable.

So my suggestion is to loosen up a little, and restrict yourself to asking Perl questions that you really are stuck on (you've looked in your Perl references, done a search on this site and maybe even Googled for an answer without success). Go with the flow, fit in with the vibe, and eventually all will become clear. :)

    And welcome!

The Stumbit is a sacred artifact of this monastery.

It must not be removed, or mass hysteria could emerge among us. And it's not wrong. Of course not. It's sacred. It's our icon. It's part of the threefolded truth (Larry, his decendant Damian and The Stumbit).

And I think it fits. A good monk could not boldly submit self praise! So we confine ourselfs to humbly stumbit our confessions to our brothers.

    So long,
    Flexx

This always catches my eye too. But I've come to like the "stumbit" button. It's part of the Perl Monks culture.

I --'d this node, and here's why; do you honestly believe that with all the traffic this site incurs nobody else would have mentioned it, and then if if it were a problem it wouldn't have been corrected yet? Being capable of this sort of reasoning could serve you well as a programmer.

Have you ever worked on a large software project? Have you ever worked with people? Sometimes, bugs go unnoticed for a long time. :)

How very true. Many have magical properties that allow them to hide away until one is demonstrating the software to a client.

         \"/
          `

Yes, yes I have. However a typo in a user interface is a far cry from a schroedingbug. There was also of course the, what I believed to be intuitively obvious and oft mentioned (so I felt no need to do so yet again), "search the f\w+ site" slant as well.
