First off, always fully state the opposing view, it makes for a better debate.

Of significan (sic) note, our school day will begin at 7:44 with our first class starting at 7:50 a.m. This is recognizably, a very early start to the school day. However, due to transportation scheduling, as well as, the co-ordination of timetables between the two schools, particularly the co-ordination of the lunch schedules, we needed to begin the school day at this time. The positive news is that our school day will end at 1:56 p.m., thus enabling our students ample time for homework, extra-curricular activities and job opportunities.(source)

Seems reasonable to me. There are far, far more important issues to deal with, don't sweat the small stuff.
