I want to give perlmonks money... as I am sure other people would have no problems giving perlmonks money... so the best way for me to do it is by buying a couple of books on amazon, or thinkgeek, or anyone of those book sites, and having perlmonks get a kickback... does perlmonks have any type of revenue sharing agreement with any sites?

i would want to give money to support Perl Monks as well, but i am not interested in having to buy other things to do so. neither do i have anything that i would want to advertise with a banner ad. i would possibly be interested in sponsoring a 'no-ad' banner ad that was just blank and didn't link to anything, but since the ad pricing/revenues are based on click-throughs, that wouldn't really work. plus, i would be more interested in a fixed size donation/sponsorship than the possible open-endedness represented by the currently commercial pricing model.

just to be clear, i would be willing to contribute money without anything in return (that is anything more than what i already get from PM).

Another option is doing what dyndns.org does (and many others)...just have a donation page where people can donate any amount they wish, from $.50 to $500 (if you're from another country, s/\$/$yourCurrency/). This would be nice because sometimes someone might just want to give moolah and not have to deal with anything else.

You could use a Kagi account to do this, and thus easily circumevent the hassle of setting up your own SSL secured form-sub thingy and merchant accounts with credit card companies and etc. It's be pretty easy.

When you say give money to "perlmonks", who exactly would be getting the money? Vroom? The Everything Development Company? Or is there some provision to have "Perlmonks" as an entity that can recieve and spend money?
