Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I don't know how many of you people out there use AIM, but I do. I am currently trying to create a mini game using CGI and stuff, but the link I give:
www.blahblahbablah.com/cgi-bin/mygame.cgi?name=%n
the %n part places the SN of the person into the link, and when they click on the link I can log their SN and stuff.
The problem is that all screen names with spaces in them cannot be linked in this fashion, and this has frustrated me to say the least. Can anyone here help me with ways to remedy this?
It is an CGI/Perl problem, because many people have figured out the method to bypass this problem. Look to things like subproflie (ok they use PHP, but there i think the method could be adapted).
