    Thanks for the reply - unfortunately these articles only seem to cover message translation, and that's the only bit I'm ok with - Locale::Maketext.

    Its all the other stuff - number, currency, date formats, collation... that's driving me up the wall ATM :)

        I also found picu but that seems long dead. Sad, because that's exactly the functionality I was looking for.

        I think the short answer to my original question is "you can't" - it doesn't seem to exist for perl ATM :(
