in reply to Tutorial wish list

Following a discussion on chatterbox, jcwren and I were talking about something we'd both like to see: a discussion of the merits and disadvantages of creating HTML with CGI.pm, print, Mason and a template system from a person or people who has(/have) tried different systems. Something beyond 'XXX is best' and 'ZZZ is my favorite' would make for interesting reading.

I just noticed that there is a section about this in Chapter 5 of the new edition of O'Reilly's "CGI Programming in Perl" (haven't got that far tho' so I can't comment on what it says).

There's also a chapter on HTML templating systems which discusses HTML::Template, Embperl and (briefly) HTML::Mason. Nothing on the Template Toolkit tho'.
