How hard would it be to add a forwarding option for /msgs?

Would anyone except me find this useful?

PerlMonks pager (which comes with the PerlMonksChat distribution) does this - gets your msgs, forwards them to a mail address and deletes if required.

    Cheers, Ben.

For the record, I meant forwarding /msgs to another user id.

One notion of how this might be used is for that annoying situation where you mistype the intended recipients name, the /msg could be bounced back to you as a /msg from "unknown". You could then use the forwarding option to send it on to the intended recipient.

I also have the habit of sending complex /msgs (with links and such) intended for others to myself first to check I got the links correct. Currently, I then use the back button to go back to the screen where I typed it, edit the name and send it on, then delete the copy I sent to myself. No great sweat, but if there was a [ ] Forward? option against the message in the archive (in addition to the delete & reply checkboxes), it could save a few steps.

I realise that this is probably to obscure to warrent someones time to do it, but the thought crossed my mind so I asked:)

Could you explain what a "forwarding option" is?

    (I ask curiously ;-)

    Update: Ah. I understand.

One would assume an option to have /msg's forwarded to an email address.
