Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I am very new to PERL and am trying to find a way to use a PERL script to see what tasks are running on my Windows 2000 Pro system. My question is in two parts. First is there a way to accomplish this in PERL. Second, if the first is yes, are there any examples available that I could study and/or try out. I thank you Wise Monks for any consideration.

    This script ProcessInfo.pl that is a part of the Win32::Process::Info package will do this.

      Many thanks for the (exact) guidance I needed. I will study this code and what makes it work. Know that your investment was not wasted on me. I now think that there is hope for a 55 yr. old dog like me to learn Perl (if high quality mentoring like this is available). Thanks again I will not abuse this privilege.
