ASCII in regex

toadi has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

got in my database tekst stored with newlines. When I display them in my html there is a newline. But is it possible to replace this regex with a

You need to escape the <BR> tags in your post, otherwise they don't get displayed. Replace the opening < with <. As for your question, you should be able to do something like: `$text =~ s/\n/<BR>/g;` [download] -- <http://www.dave.org.uk> European Perl Conference - Sept 22/24 2000, ICA, London <http://www.yapc.org/Europe/>	[reply] [d/l]

Your question is not quite clear to me, but it could be done via: `s/\n/<br>/g;` [download]	[reply] [d/l]
