I just looked over the example for using Net::AOLIM and if you look in the handlers sub it shows how to handle updates to your buddies status. I would highly recomend using one of the other modules even if they aren't as active, they are much more mature in event handling. :)

    I've been through the example as well and the only buddy update I've been able to get good info for is the user the script logs in as. All others I've been unable to do anything with. There is a get_buddy_info function (I think that's what it's called I don't have the doc in front of me) that I thought would do it but it returns some url thing so I'm betting that's not what I'm looking for.

    I'll give Net::AIM a try and see what I can make happen.
