chunlou's node on visualization using graphviz is
possibly the closest to perl visualization of trees, and
sadly it is not dynamic. however it can deal with very large graphs indeed, being based on att graph viz research. find it at

there are a whole set of tools out there for vizualization of trees if you are prepared to pay. my group uses
inxight to vizualize large trees (> 3000 nodes). sadly the best interfaces to this are java, tho activex is possible, & perl could control this.
