Nay, the Best Nodes page is about pride. And if you want to make it on that coveted Top 20 list, you'd better get about a quarter K of users to ++ your node. Or else you only last for about a day or so. ;)

It's not just about pride. I personally consider browsing perlmonks my best time waster ... on days when I have a lot of time to waste, after exhausting the Newest Nodes page, i allways take a glane down the "Weekly Best" nodelet to see if there's anything i've missed that other people have (aparently) given high marks. If there was a Monthly/Yearly best, i'd gander at those too if i had even more time.

You're right .. searchingthe "Best Nodes" as a section would probably be silly .. but as a list. Sounds like a usefull page to me.
