You can edit your root nodes in meditations. You can also change or even remove all the content from RE: nodes. If a node has no content it will generally get reaped. Editing top level nodes should not be possible as if you start a discussion you have started one. The replies relate to this so would lose their meaning if the top level node changes or dematerialises. Also when nodes get frontpaged it would look a little silly if they were blank. (You can't frontpage meditations for this reason).

The editors can fix typos, and other errors in top level nodes. All up I think this works well.
