I tried a recent version of Komodo on a tired old Pentium 90. My advice -> get a fast box if you want this beast to run in real time - the performance was so bad you could simply not use it. This same box runs Perl Builder 2 no problem.
One note, scripts run in PB2 run about 100 times slower than from the command line. This is not an issue in most cases but can be for computationally intensive tasks. Easy enough to run stuff from the command prompt anyway, even while you are editing them in PB2.
