A little history and the inspiration for this poem. In 2002 we used Perl to develop a poetry site. Wow! 12 years of stable site availability with very little downtime. In the past 12 years, this Perl based site has served over 100,000 poets – all possible because of the great work of the Perl programming community.

Perl enables the creation of programs that are beautiful
We know that Perl's features are most powerful and suitable

Blessing the normal programmer with mind-blowing expression
We are so grateful Larry Wall chose the computing profession
