It seems xkcd has taken the idea of this module, and calls it PermaCal.
Incidentally, has there ever been a version of that module that you don't have to download every day, but you still have to rebuild and reinstall every day, because the date is hard-coded into the module at build time? That would preserve some of the joke of the module without "wasting space on CPAN".
