According to the documentation Attribute::Handlers is "an excellent and intuitive interface through which to tie variables".

Oh, and, lest I be accused of self-aggrandisement, the documentation actually says:

Attributes make an excellent and intuitive interface through which to tie variables.

I make no claims about Attribute::Handlers.
