Great testimony there atcroft. perlmonks is consisted of many different elements like you said, that can help the beginner greatly.

At perlmonks there is no end to the supply of intellengent monks, posts, or people in the CB. I find that every answer to a question seems to be by someone who cares and has gone through this certain problem. I find that this person and this person have been the most helpful for answering my questions. To any begginers reading this.

I would suggest msging these two fine fellows or catching them in the CB to ask them your questions or dilemmas.
