I will not echo what others have already said as I feel they are right. I will just mention that the vast majority of the people that are working on Perl 6 development are not getting paid for it directly. They have to work regular jobs just like the rest of us. They have medical problems and family's to support. And yet, a lot of them still find time to come here, answer questions, and contribute to the community. Some of them have chosen handles which do not directly identify themselves, so I will not bother to list who they are. I would check out
