DiBona is a friend of nate's, was in town and we thought he looked sufficiently monk-like. He was a member of the original 6 picture rotation and I see no need to change that. As for users having to reach level 6 to have their picture up there I think it's a fair if not overly easy thing to do to have your picture featured so prominently within a site.

I also retain the right to do as I please even if it doesn't make sense to everyone. So long as it makes sense to me that's reason enough to have it on PerlMonks.
