Ok, I know it's cruel, but here's the one liner I used on my friend to rename all of his mp3s. Too bad he didn't know perl, he had to change them all back by hand...mmwhahaha!
perl -e 'foreach (@ARGV){rename($_, "$_.lol") if(/mp3/);}' *
