This is actually to fund him for a year in Australia. We will have to pay more to have him here.

Ah... but in this modern tele-commuting age it really doesn't matter if he's in deepest Australia or "here" (wherever that is!).

His planned itinerary does, however, include a number of teaching and conference trips to most other continents during the year.
