Regarding the inability to stay logged in, this has happened to me once or twice before (ages ago). Delete your cookies, shut down your browser, restart it, and re-login to the site. That usually corrects whatever issue you're having.

Since this seems to be mostly a discussion on how to use Super Search, and how to resolve login problems with the Monastery, it's probably more appropriate as a PerlMonks Discussion than a SoPW.
