So back to my original query. Are the sources for Experimental::Exception sill available somewhere?

If you don't get a response from emailing the author, I highly recommend that you take it upon yourself to at the very least upload it to CPAN so that it's no longer lost in the void. You may even be able to find someone -- here or elsewhere -- willing to maintain it.
