Something else you may want to consider is an editor that will let you run your code and see the results. I'm using Context and have set it up so that the F12 key checks to make sure I don't have any syntax errors and F9 runs my code.

Context is a free editor that works for Perl in addition to many other languages.

Useless trivia: In the 2004 Las Vegas phone book there are approximately 28 pages of ads for massage, but almost 200 for lawyers.
