As you have perl/Tk installed, type "widget" to the command prompt. This has a fairly comprehensive set of widget demos, complete with a "see code" button.
There was a Tk wiki I contributed towards, but this seems to have been blasted by spammers :(. I tried to contact batkins with a view to restoring from backup, but to no avail.
