Sure they can, or else they wouldn't be called *gods*...

Remember, somebody must have access to the machine, PM is not over SSL, so there is no need to have access to the database to know the votes, just to the network traffic (considering your paranoid).

Or even monitoring the reputation of the node against the access of people to the vote button... (still considering your paranoid)

But... There is a database with the votes that nobody cares looking at it (except for exceptions). (now supposing you're a sane person)...
