It's hard to believe - this is my 1000th post to perlmonks. I mean, I belong to some other online communities, but I guarantee that putting them all together, I haven't posted 1000 times anywhere else (except maybe usenet, but that's impossible to gauge, and I'm not sure I still want to stand by some of those posts ;->).
In that time, I've managed to garner enough XP to pass by my betters (TimToady, TheDamian among the top of these, but many others as well), and still manage to watch Pustular Postulant tlm fly by me as if I weren't posting at all. If that's not a lesson in the futility of XPWing, I don't know what is. (Well, I suppose it'd be a bigger lesson if it weren't for the fact that tlm really does know more about perl than I.)
Meanwhile, I think I've managed to get some significant help on some issues that probably saved me days of development trial and error, although I've probably spent more than that savings in helping others ;-). I've had some serious bugs confirmed by others - very helpful to discern my own sanity level before sending in a bug report. And I'd like to think that some of my 1000 posts have helped others past their problems and on to more productive work.
And I look forward to the next 1000 posts!
A big thanks to all who help make this place happen.
