I'm pretty sure there's an open bug for FF concerning that behaviour, though I can't immediately find the number. It basically states that pressing the back button should always serve the cached results, not make a new request to the old URL.

(OT) There even used to be a similar issue with "view source", where even that would cause a new request of your current page. Which could result in things like double posts and the like.
