Hi all,
I'm sorry if this sounds really pathetic. I'm trying to get information from a file contents, number of words, characters, paragraphs etc. I've done lines and characters, and I'm close a a breakdown now. I've tried several combinations and can't get the $wordcount above the 0 value it was initialized with. What can I do to make this pice of coding work? Again, apologies, but if I don't ask I'll never learn.
Caz :(
seek (READFILE,0,0);
read (READFILE, $buffer, 1000, 0);
foreach ($buffer =~ m/[\w|\W]*[\s|\S]+/gi )
{
$wordcount++;
}
