This is a 2.4.4 pre-release for testing - and it will probably attract the attention of a fair number of CPAN Testers. But there's always room for some additional testing, so anyone here who would like to give it a try is encouraged to do so.
In particular (but by no means exclusively), I'm interested to hear of any problems encountered when building it on Win32. It should build straight out of the box for 5.8.0-5.10.0 for both ActivePerl (nmake/dmake x MinGW/MSVC) and Strawberry Perl. But there's a few permutations involved there, and I don't get to test all of them.
If any Strawberry Perl users feel like going to the trouble of adding the g77 fortran compiler to the MinGW that was installed as part of Strawberry, and then installing
ExtUtils::F77, they should then automatically get to build/test an enhanced PDL that contains additional (namely, slatec and minuit) functionality. Anyone who has installed MinGW independently probably already has g77, so it should be just a matter of installing ExtUtils::F77 in order to access that additional functionality.
Similarly for non-Win32 users, pre-installing ExtUtils::F77 will lead to the building/testing of those additional PDL elements.
Afterthought: Perhaps I should mention where you can get it:
http://search.cpan.org/~chm/PDL-2.4.3_01/
It may not yet have reached all mirrors.
Cheers,
Rob
