There IS a right way and wrong way to write Perl... but don't go asking someone else what that is. The "rightness" and "wrongness" of any solution that you create is determined, ultimately and completely, by you. That's what the whole "Did you get the job done? Then you did it right." paradigm comes from. Lots of people can give you hints at things that might help you on your way, (use CGI, -w, strict, blah blah blah) but those are just hints and not moral laws. Your problem is unique to you. You define the measures of success. Within the definition of your "job" lay the standards by which rightness and wrongness are determined.

That's the reason why "use strict;" isn't the default behavior. It often smooths your way, but you can certainly get into heaven without it. :-D
